Alles Malan

Set in Paarl in the Western Cape, this drama centres on the Malan family, headed by Brenda and Derik. Their firstborn, Frik, returns from England with his wife and kids after eight years to take over the family business.

Lui Maar Op, Belinda

Brumilda van Rensburg and Annelisa Weiland share the screen for the first time ever in this new Afrikaans sitcom. The show is set in George and features an odd mix of characters working at a general dealer.

Pronk Primêr

Welcome to Pronk Primêr, a small-town primary school where former pupil Ada Benade gets a job as a maths teacher, working alongside some of her former schoolmates … and Principal Welgehawe, who’s still in his post after all these years.

Mince Jou Hare

A comedy based in the fictional town of Hexvallei in the Boland district. We follow our lead character, Frieda, as she sets up her home-based hair salon after quitting her factory job alongside her best friend, Julia.

Crime and legal dramas

Donkerbos

When the bodies of six children are found in the backwater forests of Donkerbos, a troubled detective must wrestle with her dark past and a distrustful community to catch the killer before another child disappears.

Spoorloos S1-4

In the fourth season of this Afrikaans crime anthology series, Stefan Claassen (singer Bobby van Jaarsveld from Liefling and As Jy Sing), a young architect, has his life thrown into chaos following a chance encounter with his long-lost first love, Emma (Izel Bezuidenhout from Dis Ek, Anna, Dominee Tienie and Flatland). When she goes missing just hours later, Stefan becomes the prime suspect in her murder.

Die Byl S1-2

The Mommy Club: Van die Hoofstad

The third instalment of the fan-favourite Mommy Club franchise showcased five powerhouse Pretoria moms who are redefining the art of balancing parenting, power, and prestige – all while leaning on their close-knit families to raise the next generation. The dynamic cast of Afrikaans women includes Ansu Viljoen, Crystal Van Der Burgh, Johandri Johnson, Louise Volschenk, and Tessa Tullues.

Die Ondernemers

Most people think of death as the end, but for Cape Town's quirkiest undertakers it's the start of their work week. Join three unique undertakers as they navigate the absurdities of the world of life and death: Candice Austin, owner of Goodall & Bourne Funeral Undertakers; Jano van der Berg, owner of Van der Berg Funeral Services; and former Stormers rugby player Ramone Samuels, managing director of SamWill Funeral Services, co-owned by his brother, Springbok fullback Damian Willemse.

Elders S7

In the seventh season of the SAFTA-winning Elders, hiker and author Erns Grundling walks the new 340km Lighthouse Route between the iconic lighthouses of Mossel Bay and Cape Agulhas. The hike normally takes 17 days, but Erns and the Bonanza Films team spent a month on the route, along the coast from Mossel Bay to Jongensfontein, then inland to Malgas, and then further through the Overberg near Bredasdorp and again along the coast between Struisbaai and Cape Agulhas. Season 6 of Elders, Frankryk, sees Erns and team heading to France ahead of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
